YMCA of the Foothills NEO Part 1:

  1. Welcome: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  2. CEO Intro: Must watch entire video of CEO Tyler Wright to enable next button.

  3. Y Mission: Must listen to audio before next is enabled. (Course automatically advances to the next page when audio completes.)

  4. Y Voice: Must listen to audio before next is enabled. (Course automatically advances to the next page when audio completes.)

  5. Passionate About the Y: Must watch entire video of Damon Colaluca, Vice Presdient of Youth Development. Then, next is enabled.

  6. Core Values: Must listen to intro audio, then click all four images. Once they’ve been clicked, a checkmark appears on each of the pictures. Once all four images have been clicked, and audio is complete, next will become enabled.

  7. Timeline: Must click all 13 circles on the timeline and listen to all audio for each. White checkmarks will appear on circles to indicate which circles have been completed. When all are complete, next will become enabled.

  8. Staff Promise: Allow intro audio to complete, then click on all 6 numbers that appear on the left side. Each number has a popup with information to be read, and required audio. When each number is complete, it will turn from purple to blue. Once all numbers are complete (blue), a video will be shown:

    • Video of member, Alison Bley: Must watch entire video to enable next button.
  9. Diversity and Inclusion: Begins with intro video. Must watch entire video, then listen to introductory audio. Once audio is complete, click all buttons on the left side (5 total) and listen to all audio. When a section is complete, a checkmark will appear over the button. Once all sections are complete and all checkmarks are showing, next will become enabled.

    • NOTE: For box 1, Definitions, in addition to the audio, you must complete a quick drag/drop activity to complete that section. Drag and drop the two definitions to the appropriate words.
  10. Harassment Policy: Must listen to intro audio, then click the folded corner in bottom right of the screen. An arrow will appear to point to the corner where you must click. Next, definition and types of harassment will appear. Click the four different types of harassment. Once you’ve viewed the definitions for all four types, again click the folded corner to move on. After that, you must click through all three remaining screens by using the folded edges at the bottom of the colored shapes before next is enabled. When you get to the last page “Corrective Action” (yellow block on screen), and have listened to the audio, next will be enabled.

  11. Employee Handbook: Must allow intro narration to complete. Then, click the 11 notebook tabs on the right side of the screen. Must view all tabs and allow all audio to complete for each section. A checkmark will appear on tab when section is fully completed. Once all are complete, next will become enabled.

    • NOTE: For tab #8- Employee Complaint Procedure, you must click on all four steps to complete this section. (Checkmarks will appear over steps once they are clicked.)

  12. FAQs: Click the green FAQ buttons to read the answers to the FAQs shown. Next button is enabled after intro audio. FAQs are optional, but should be used as a self-check.

    • FAQ Video: After you click next from the FAQ page, a video will appear. Must allow video to complete before moving on. Once video completes, you will be able to click the next button to move on.
  13. Next steps: You are instructed to move on to Part II, Employee Safety and Risk Management. To begin Part II, locate the black Menu panel to left of the course. Click either “Next Course” or “Part II: Employee Safety and Risk Management” to begin.



YMCA of the Foothills NEO Part 2 (Employee Safety and Risk Management)

  1. Welcome: Must listen to intro audio before next is enabled.

  2. Accidents and Injuries: Once intro audio completes, click each of the 5 steps and listen to audio for each to enable next button. A yellow checkmark will appear over step number once audio on each step has completed.

  3. Bloodborne Pathogens: Listen to intro narration, then click 5 buttons to the left and listen to all audio in each section. The sections are: Bloodborne Pathogens Definition, Hepatitis B Vaccination, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), If Exposed, and Exposure Control Plan. A dark red checkmark will appear at top left of each button once once a section is completed. Requirements to complete each section are:

    1. BBP Definition: Allow all audio to complete.

    2. Hepatitis B Vaccination: Allow all audio to complete and click button on screen to download form.

    3. PPE: Allow all audio to complete.

    4. If Exposed: Allow all audio to complete and click numbers 1-4.

    5. Exposure Control Plan: Allow all audio to complete and click PDF in attachments labeled, “Exposure Control Plan”

  4. BBP Quiz: Answer all 9 questions. Choose your response by clicking on the radio buttons, then click Submit in bottom right of question box. Once you click submit, feedback will appear to let you know if you got the question right or wrong. Next button will be enabled once all questions in the quiz are answered.

  5. Hazard Communication and SDS: Allow intro narration to complete, then click 5 buttons to the left of the screen. Once all sections are fully completed a red checkmark will appear. When all sections are completed the next button will become enabled.

    1. SDS contains: Listen to audio and click buttons 1-3

    2. When to consult an SDS: Allow all audio to complete.

    3. Reading the SDS Part 1: Allow audio to complete and then click all flashing orange hotspots to complete section.

    4. Reading the SDS Part 2: Allow audio to complete and then click all flashing orange hotspots to complete section.

    5. Other Points: Allow all audio to complete.

  6. Hazard Communications Quiz: Answer all 10 questions. Choose your response by clicking on the radio buttons, then click Submit in bottom right of question box. Once you click submit, feedback will appear to let you know if you got the question right or wrong. Next button will be enabled once all questions in the quiz are answered.

  7. Employee Safety: Listen to intro audio and then click two yellow buttons to the left. Complete each section, an orange checkmark will appear on the box when the section has been completed and the next button will become enabled.

    1. Preventing minor accidents: Click numbered buttons 1-6 to complete section

    2. Working in a safe environment: Listen to intro audio then click numbers 1-5. User must listen to all audio for each number. An orange checkmark will appear over number when it has completed.

  8. Next Steps: You are instructed to move on to Part III, Child Abuse Prevention Training. To begin Part III, locate the black Menu panel to left of the course. Click either “Next Course” or “Part III: Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention Training” to begin.




YMCA of the Foothills NEO Part 3 (Child Abuse & Maltreatment Prevention Training)

  1. Welcome Screen: Read message in bottom right corner, and click Continue to begin course.

  2. Intro Video: Video of John Loussararian, Vice President of Operations. Must allow video to complete to enable next. (It will automatically advance to the next page when video completes.)

  3. Welcome: Allow intro audio to complete before next is enabled.

  4. Section 1 Intro: Allow audio to complete before next is enabled.

  5. Stats: Allow audio to complete, will automatically advance to next page “Types of Abuse.”

  6. Types of Abuse: Listen to intro audio, then must click four types of abuse in the top right corner or on the pie chart. You do not need to click “Other Maltreatment,” as there is no additional information about that one. Once you’ve clicked each, a white checkmark will appear in the legend at top right. When all four are complete, a popup will appear. Click the button to continue. Audio will start to play, and another popup will appear. Click “Begin” to start the activity:

    • Drag and drop activity: There is a word bank on the left side of the page, made up of indicators that a child may be in an abusive situation. To the right and bottom of the page, there are 5 boxes, one to represent each type of abuse, and a fifth box to represent indicators that are common for all types of abuse. Each indicator on the left must be dragged into its appropriate box. When all of the indicators have been moved into a box, feedback will appear; read it. If you have missed some, click the button to view the correct answers. You are asked to also download a PDF for additional information. Then you may click the next button to move on.

  7. Family Characteristics: Must click each of the 10 pictures, and read the information that pops up for each, before next is enabled. Green checkmarks will appear on pictures that have been completed.

  8. Profiles of Abusers: Listen to intro audio and read instructions. Click blue button to begin the activity. Statements will appear above the images. Read them, and select whether each statement is true for female abusers, male abusers, or both. There are 10 statements total. After all have been completed, a popup will appear with some information that needs to be read. Then, next will become enabled.

  9. Strategies of Child Abusers: Click the four images to learn about the different strategies often used by child abusers. Must listen to each of the four strategies scenarios/explanations before next is enabled. When each of the strategies is completed, the picture for that strategy is grayed out in the opening menu.

  10. Child on Child Abuse: Must answer T/F at beginning, then click the 8 buttons that are shown on left side of screen. Red checkmarks appear on buttons that have been clicked. Once all are clicked, next is enabled.

  11. Bullying Prevention and Response: Allow intro audio to complete, then click the 5 tabs shown to left side of screen. Blue checkmarks appear on buttons once they have been clicked and the section fully completed. Once all are checked, next is enabled.

    • What is Bullying: Allow audio to complete

    • Types of Bullying: Click on 4 types to enable checkmark

    • Who are Bulllies: Allow audio to complete

    • Effects: Allow audio to complete

    • What Can Y Staff Do to Combat Bullying: Listen to intro narrow, click all four squares

  12. Normal Sexual Behavior: Must listen to intro audio, then click on each age group, one at a time. Within each age group, there will be an activity where you must select the behaviors shown that are normal for children in that age group. Once you select your responses, click the submit button, and feedback will appear. Read the feedback, then another button appears to take you back to the main menu to select another age group. Orange checkmarks appear on completed age groups within the main menu. Once all four age groups’ activities are complete, next will become enabled.

  13. Section 2 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  14. Program and Staffing Issues: Must watch video at beginning of page. Then, audio will begin. Listen to audio, then click each of the 7 buttons on the right side. Additional information will appear for each. Blue checkmarks appear in the top left corners of buttons once they’re clicked. Once all are clicked, and all information has been read, next will become enabled.

  15. Facility Policies: Must listen to intro audio, then click on all three categories (Indoors, Outdoors, and Locker Room). Once a category is completed, it will be “grayed out” (in purple though) on main screen. To complete each section:

    • Outdoors: Must click each of the three flashing hotspots to view additional information.

    • Indoors: First, choose “Children” or “Adults.” Within each of these sub-sections, you must click the two flashing hotspots. Once you’ve completed a sub-section (Children or Adults), a button will appear to navigate to the other that you haven’t completed. Again, click the two flashing hotspots.

    • Locker Room: Must click each of the three flashing hotspots to view additional information.

  16. Appropriate Touching Part 1: Click red begin button to read through scenario. At the top of the screen, you will read the scenario. Below that, you will be shown a rule about appropriate touching of children. Under the rule will be a button that you must click to progress through the scenario. There will be five parts to the scenario, and therefore, five rules. Once you’re at Rule #5, next will become enabled.

  17. Appropriate Touching Part 2: Must click through all three common issues examples, and listen to all audio, before next is enabled. As you complete each of the three examples, you will be returned to the main page. A pink checkmark will appear on each completed example. When you have all three checkmarks showing, next will become enabled.

    • “Sitting on Your Lap” section also has a video that must be watched. A question pops up during video, as well, and you must select your response. Once you answer the question, you will see some feedback and must click the button shown to continue the video. When the video is complete, there will be a button in bottom right (“Move on”) to continue onto the next part of the “sitting on your lap” section. In the next section, there is required audio like the other examples.

  18. Showing Affection: All five guidelines must be clicked, and all information within each guideline must be listened to, before next is enabled. For Guidelines 1 and 3, there is a quick drag and drop activity that must be completed as well. Checkmarks appear on completed guidelines’ buttons.

  19. Code of Conduct: All pieces of the code of conduct must be clicked (24 boxes). “Outside Program” piece has video that must be watched (second row, second from right.) When a piece has been completed, it will appear as a solid color with text. Once all are completed, next is enabled.

  20. Section 3 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  21. How to Respond: Must watch video. During video, suggestions will appear that you must read. You will manually continue video by clicking buttons that prompt you to do so. Once video is complete, next will be enabled.

  22. Common Ways Kids Disclose: Must click three most common ways and listen to scenarios. In each scenario, you are posed with a question. Think about a response, and click the button that will appear in the bottom left corner to continue the scenario. Checkmarks appear on completed sections when user returns to main screen following each scenario. Once all three are complete, next will become enabled.

  23. Making the Report: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the six “steps” buttons that appear (buttons are circles at the bottom of the screen). Read the information that pops up for each step. Then, a checkmark will appear on each step button. Once all checkmarks are showing, and you’ve viewed all six steps, next will become enabled.

  24. Reporting a Coworker: Listen to intro audio, then six steps’ buttons will appear on screen. Must click each of the six steps, and read the information within them, before next is enabled. White checkmarks will appear on each step button when it has been clicked.

  25. Signature Page: You must fill out all the information on the form. Then, click the submit button at the bottom of the form. Submission of this form is required to count course as complete. Link to form below:

  26. Final thoughts: Must listen to audio, then final steps appear. They are as follows:

    1. An e-mail notification is being sent to Human Resources notifying them that you have completed Parts I, II, and III of orientation.

    2. You must attend Part IV of your orientation, which you will take on-site at the YMCA.

    3. You must also view the YMCA of the USA online orientation found at yexchange.org.
