Two Rivers YMCA New Employee Orientation:

Part I: New Employee Orientation

  1. Welcome: Must click on continue, then listen to all audio. This is the same as every YMCA course.
  2. CEO Intro: Must watch the video that auto-plays. After, another video will pop-up that also must be watched. After both have ended, can click next to continue.
  3. Our Promise: This slide will auto play. After the audio and animations are complete, they can click next to continue (as indicated by the pop-up.)
  4. Y Mission: There will be an audio introduction, then the three focus area statements will appear in bottom left of screen (blue text). They must click each.

a.            For each of the three focus areas, (For… Youth Developement, Healthy Living, Social Responsibility), once they’re clicked, a popup appears and audio plays. After the audio is complete, a button will become enabled labeled “launch video.”

b.            After clicking “launch video” a second popup will appear. These popups each have a video within them that needs to be watched.

c.            Once each focus area’s videos are complete, an X (close) button appears in the video popup at top right corner. After closing each, a checkmark will appear next to that focus area on the main page screen to show that each area has been completed. Once all three are complete (and all three checkmarks are showing), next will become enabled and they can move on.

  1. Y Voice: The slide will auto play. It will auto move to the next page, Core Values, after the audio is complete.
  2. Core Values: Must click on each of the tile sections (4 total) before next is enabled. All audio must be listened to before being able to click next. Checkmarks will appear on each of the core value’s pictures once audio is complete.
  3. Staff Promise: After the intro audio, numbers 1-6 will appear at left side of the screen. The user must click each of them and listen to the audio entirely. Once each number is complete, it will turn from purple to blue. When all are blue (when audio has played out for each), next will become enabled.
  4. Timeline: User must click each of the orange circles on the red bar. There are 9 total, and the audio must be listen completely for each before next will become enabled.
  5. Our Locations: This page they must click each of the branches to the left (5 total - 4 Two Rivers branches and 1 section about the Scott County Family YMCA). They must listen to all audio to receive a checkmark for that branch. After all the checks appear, next will become enabled.
  6. Structure: This page is about organizational structure; they just need to listen to the audio and then they may continue.
  7. Our Programs: After the intro audio, 6 buttons will appear to the right. Each of them must be clicked and the audio listened to. The first 5 on the page are all this way, while the last one (Livestrong) is slightly different. For this one, they are required to watch a video on Youtube. After the audio finishes playing, a popup will appear where they must fully watch the video before being able to continue. After the video finishes, an “x” will appear that they may click to exit that second. Once all 6 checkmarks appear next to the buttons, next will become enabled.
  8. Employee Handbook: After the intro audio, each of the tabs of the handbook (on right side of screen; 14 total tabs) will become enabled. They must listen to all audio to complete each tab.  A white checkmark will appear on each completed tab. Next will become enabled after all 14 tabs are complete. The tabs below have additional requirements to be completed:

 .              Tab 1, Dress Code. They must click each of the buttons  to learn the acceptable and unacceptable attire for this YMCA.

a.            Tab 8, Wage and Salary Administration. They must click each of the orange buttons to recieve a checkmark for it.

b.            Tab 9, Dispute Resolution. There are 3 buttons, Steps 1 through 3, that must be clicked through.

c.            Tab 14, Child Abuse Prevention. There are 4 orange buttons, Steps 1 through 4, that must be clicked through.

  1. Harassment Policy: This section has 5 subsections. Learner must click the tabs at the bottom right of the shape on screen to move between sub-sections.

 .              Intro -  Must listen to intro audio. There are 4 buttons for each type of harassment. They much click through each of the 4 types to learn more about them. Then, an arrow appears showing them that they can click the tab in the bottom right to move on.

a.            Harssasment will not be tolerated - Listen to all audio and then may move on by clicking the tab in the bottom right, like before.

b.            Reporting a Claim - they just have to listen to brief line of audio, then click the yellow-orange tab at bottom right of shape to move on.

c.            Confidentiality - Again, just have to listen to brief line of audio, then click the yellow tab at bottom right of shape.

d.            Corrective Action - Have to listen to audio, then next will become enabled.

  1. Employee Safety: After the intro audio they may choose any of the 3 sections above to begin. They must listen to all three before moving on from this slide, but can view them in any order. Section 1, Emergency Procedures, has 4 buttons to click. They must listen to audio before being able to click another button. For Sections 2 and 3, Employee Injury and Member Injury, they are required to listen to audio before receiving their checkmark and being able to move on. After all 3 checkmarks appear at the top of the page, they can move on.
  2. Signature Page: They must listen to the audio and complete the form on screen before continuing. Next will become enabled after the audio is complete.

  3. Next steps: Listen to audio and complete the on-screen instructions. An email is being sent to the administration telling them the NEO is complete, their supervisor will be contacting them about a branch specific orientation, and they will have 3 weeks from when they signed their new hire paperwork to complete Parts 2 and 3.

 

Part II: Listen First

 

  1. Welcome: Must click on continue, then listen to all audio. This is the same as every YMCA course.
  2. What is Listen First?: They must listen to all audio in on this page, and then next will become enabled.
  3. Obesity Trends: There is an intro popup where they must listen to some audio. After, a button labeled “Obesity trend in the United States” will be become enabled to begin the section. Each map has audio associated with it and must be listened to. After the audio has completed, they need to click the large arrow on the right of the screen to move to the next one. After they have made it to the year 2012, and the audio has completed, next will become enabled.
  4. What is a Health Seeker?: First, there is some introductory audio. When the pie chart appears (labeled Population breakdown) they must click it to continue. For the pie chart section they must listen to the introduction audio. After it is complete, they must click each of the 3 popups (20%, 10%, and 70%) to learn more about each. Within each of the popups is more audio that they are required to listen to. After that audio has finished, a close button will appear in the bottom left corner to close the popup. Then, a checkmark will be revealed on that section, and after all 3 appear, next will become enabled.
  5. People Activity: (Who is a Health Seeker?) The first part of this section has some audio. After the audio finishes, a button labeled “Health Seeker Quiz” will appear. They must click that to begin the activity. Activity instructions will appear, and they may click begin after listening to the audio. If they need to read the instructions again, they can click “Need some help” at the top of the page. This activity has 7 statements. They have to click the “what type of person this does statement describe” button to the right of each of them to cycle through the different types of people. So, for example, if they click one time, it will show Health Seeker, two times will show Committed to Exercise, and three times will show Happy as is. They click until the appropriate response is showing for each statement at left. Once each of the 7 has a response, a submit button will appear above the box with the answers. They click this button to check their answers. Each answer will show a green check (correct response) or red x (incorrect response). If they missed any, a “show correct answers” button will appear above the responses. They must click this to show the correct answers. After, feedback will appear for each statement that was wrong and next will become enabled. If they get them all right, the popup at the top will just say, “Great job! You may now click next to continue!” and next will become enabled.
  6. Health Seeker Obstacles: This page has 8 pictures of obstacles for health seekers. They do not need to fully listen to the intro audio to begin viewing them. They must click on each image to view a small piece of information about each one. To exit each popup, they will click the close button in the bottom right corner. Then a checkmark will appear. After all 8 have been viewed and there are checkmarks for each, then next will become enabled.
  7. Overcoming Obstacles: There are 5 images on this page. They must click each of them and listen to all the audio associated with that image before clicking another. After the audio complete, a checkmark will appear on that image. Once they’ve listened to all audio for each of the 5 sections, next will become enabled.
  8. Communicating with Health Seekers: This entire page is audio with images and text coming in and out. They don’t need to click anything. After audio is over, they can click next to continue.
  9. Communication Skill - Questions: The page starts with some intro audio, after they must click on the type blue boxes for the types of questions (Closed, Open Ended). Each question type has some audio, and after the audio is finished they must click on the other question, so that they listen to both. After both have been listened to, a purple button will appear in the middle of the page towards the bottom to take them to an activity. They must provide correct answers before being able to move on. There are boxes to the left and right of the screen (for categories, Open and Close Ended) with questions in the middle. They must drag each question to the box so that it is in the appropriate question type box. After they get everything correct, they must listen to some feedback, and then next will become enabled. If they miss any questions, they will have an opportunity to see what they missed, then redo the activity. They must get all of the questions right to be able to hear feedback and move on.


  1. Communication Skill - The 5 Why’s: After some intro audio they must click the button that says next on the screen. This is not the same as the normal next button part of the player. This one is in the middle of the screen, at bottom left of the yellow box. The button is a red/maroon color.
    After clicking the aforementioned next button, 3 cards/images will appear. Each must be clicked, and each contains a video. After they finish the video, a close button will appear to take them back to watch the other ones. After they watch all 3, some outro audio will play. They must listen to it before being able to click next to continue.
  2. Communication Skill - Listening & Hypothesis: This entire section is just audio. They have to listen to everything and next will become enabled at the end.
  3. Communications Skill - Gordon’s Example Videos: The section starts with a video they must watch, after, a popup appears with some audio that they must listen to. After this audio, another video will appear that they must watch and finally, after that, another popup will appear with some audio. This entire page doesn’t require interaction. After the second popup, they can click next to continue.
  4. What have you Learned?: This section has 4 buttons to be clicked, as a review of this course. The buttons appear on the left side of the screen. They much click each of them and listen to the audio for each, then a checkmark will appear. Once they’ve listened to all audio and all checkmarks are showing, there will be a final popup with audio. Once that audio is complete, the next button will become enabled.
  5. Signature Page: User must listen to the audio and complete & submit the form on screen before continuing. This will send an e-mail Leonna Ellis (lellis@ymcatr.org), Leadership Development Director at the Two Rivers YMCA. After the user submits the form, they are free to proceed. NEXT will become enabled after the audio is complete.
  6. Next Steps: There is just some audio for this page, and it instructions them to begin Part 3, 40 Developmental Assets, by clicking the course title in the course player on the site (to the left of the course).

 

Part III: 40 Developmental Assets

 

  1. Welcome: Must click on continue, then listen to all audio. This is the same as every YMCA course.
  2. Our Core Values: User must listen to audio introduction. Once the audio is complete, the user is prompted to click on each of the four image buttons on the right side of the screen. Clicking each button will display a larger pop-up image and associated audio will play. The user must listen to the entire audio associated with each pop-up before selecting another image. Check marks will appear for each button once the audio is complete. When all four buttons have been clicked and the audio for each is has been completed, the NEXT button will become enabled and the user will be able to move on to the next slide
  3. Values & Assets: User must complete audio and watch animation. When audio and on-screen animation is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled.
  4. 40 Developmental Assets: User must complete audio and watch animation. When audio and on-screen animation is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled.
  5. The Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets: Embedded video will play automatically. When the video is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled and the user will be able to move to the next slide.
  6. Youth Experiencing Each Level of Developmental Assets: User must complete audio and watch animation. When audio and on-screen animation is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled.
  7. 40 Developmental Assets: Protecting Youth from High-Risk Behaviors: User must complete audio narration. When narration is complete, NEXT will be enabled.
  8. 40 Developmental Assets: Encouraging Positive Behaviors: User must complete audio narration. When narration is complete, NEXT will be enabled.
  9. Kyle’s Story: Once audio introduction is complete, embedded video will play automatically. When the video is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled and the user will be able to move to the next slide.
  10. Your Role: User must complete audio and animation. When audio and on-screen animation is complete, the NEXT button will become enabled.
  11. Signature Page: User must listen to the audio and complete the form on screen before continuing. This will send an e-mail Leonna Ellis (lellis@ymcatr.org), Leadership Development Director at the Two Rivers YMCA. After the user submits the form, they are free to proceed.
