YMCA of East Tennessee New Employee Orientation:

Part I: New Employee Orientation

  1. Welcome: Must click on continue, then listen to all audio.

  2. CEO Intro: Must watch the video that auto-plays. After, the page will auto move to the next.

  3. Y Mission: The slide will auto play. After the audio and animations are complete, you can click next to continue (as indicated by the pop-up.)

  4. Core Values: Must click on each of the images (4 total), and listen to all audio, before next is enabled.

  5. Timeline: You must click each of the orange circles on the red bar. There are 13 total, and the audio must be listened to completely for each before the next button will become enabled. A white checkmark will appear on each orange circle as it is completed.

  6. Branches: You must click each of the branches to the left—6 of them. You must listen to all audio to receive a checkmark for that branch. You may re-click the branch name, or the X button, to close the branch pop-out. After all the checks appear, you will be allowed to continue.

  7. Our Programs: After the intro audio, 8 buttons appear to the right. You must click each of them and listen to the audio entirely. Once each one is complete, a checkmark will appear. When all checks are displayed, next will become enabled.

  8. Employee Handbook: After the intro audio, each of the tabs of the handbook (on right side of screen; 12 total tabs) will become enabled. You must listen to all audio to complete each tab. A white checkmark will appear on each completed tab. Next will become enabled after all 12 tabs are complete. Tabs 8 and 9 have additional requirements for completion:

    1. Tab 8 - You must click the button after the audio to view and read the 4 CRP steps. After each is clicked a checkmark appears. Once all appear, this section will be marked as complete.

    2. Tab 9 - There are 6 additional buttons to click through and read. After each is clicked a checkmark appears. Once all appear, this section will be marked as complete.

  9. Harassment Policy: This section has 5 subsections. You must click the tabs at the bottom right of the shape on screen to move between sub-sections.

    1. Intro/Zero Tolerance - Must listen to intro audio. Then, click the tab on the bottom right of the red shape on screen. Once you click the tab, you’ll be shown the definition of harassment.

    2. Definition of Harassment - Definition and 4 buttons will appear (Physical, Verbal, Written, and Sexual). They must click through each of these different types of harassment. Once they click all 4 buttons (each type of harassment), the orange tab on the bottom right of the red shape will be clickable. They must click the orange tab to continue.

    3. Reporting a Claim - Listen to brief line of audio, then read information on screen. When done, click the yellow-orange tab at bottom right of shape to move on.

    4. Confidentiality - Listen to intro audio, then read the information on screen. When done, click the yellow tab at bottom right of shape.

    5. Corrective Action - Have to listen to audio, then read information on screen. After intro audio, next will become enabled.

Part II: Employee Safety

**This course has 4 tabs at the bottom. Each tab will ONLY become enabled after the respective section is complete. For example, when on the Accidents and Injuries page, the 3 other sections (BBP, SDS, & Employee Safety) will be disabled. In the event they complete any of these sections, they return to the Accidents and Injuries page, these section buttons will become enabled throughout the course.**

  1. Welcome: Must click on continue, then listen to all audio.

  2. Accidents and Injuries: Must listen to intro audio, then click and read through the 5 buttons on screen. There is audio for these. You must listen to audio for each step to receive a checkmark for it. After all 5 are complete, next will become enabled.

  3. Bloodborne Pathogens: There are 5 buttons to the left that each have a section that IS REQUIRED to be listened to, in order to be marked as completed and receive a checkmark.

    1. BBP Definitions - Need to listen to audio

    2. Hep B - Need to listen to audio

    3. PPE - Need to listen to audio

    4. If Exposed - Each of the 4 buttons needs to be clicked to reveal the steps.

    5. Exposure Control Plan - Need to listen to audio

  4. BBP Quiz: 9 Question Quiz. Each question needs to have an answer selected before hitting the submit button. There will be some feedback for each, and you must click on the next question button that appears. After you finish all of the questions, next will become enabled.

  5. Hazard Communication and SDS: There are 4 buttons to the left that each have a section that IS REQUIRED to be listened to to be marked as completed and receive a check mark.

    1. SDS Contains - Each of the 3 buttons needs to be clicked to reveal the steps

    2. Consult SDS - Must listen to all au dio

    3. Reading the SDS - Each of the 16 buttons must be clicked to reveal additional information. As each is clicked, a checkmark will appear. Once all 16 checkmarks are showing, a checkmark will appear for this sub-section.

    4. Other Important Points: Must listen to all audio

  6. Hazard Communications Quiz: 10 Question Quiz. Each question needs to have an answer selected before hitting the submit button. There will be some feedback for each, and you must click on the next question button that appears. After you finish all of the questions, next will become enabled.

  7. Employee Safety: Following intro audio, there are 2 yellow buttons to the left. Each one must be clicked, and the following must happen within each, for it to be marked as complete (and for orange checkmark to appear on each yellow button):

    1. Preventing Accidents - Must listen to intro audio; there are 6 buttons, and each must be clicked. Once all audio is complete, and all buttons are clicked, an orange checkmark will appear for this section.

    2. Safe Environment - There are 5 buttons. Each has its own audio, and all audio is required. Each sub-section (5 buttons) will receive an orange checkmark when it is complete. Then, when all 5 are complete, a checkmark will appear on the main yellow button at left, entitled Working in a Safe Environment.

  8. Next Steps: Listen to audio and read the on-screen instructions to start Part 3.



Part III: Child Abuse & Maltreatment Prevention Training

  1. Welcome Screen: User automatically advances after clicking “Continue” on intro message (or if coming back into the course, either can click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”, but either way will be automatically advanced.

  2. Intro Video: Must watch video before next is enabled; user is automatically advanced once video is complete.

  3. Welcome: After audio, a video will appear. After finished watching the video, next will become enabled.

  4. Section 1 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  5. Stats: Must listen to audio before automatically moved to next slide.

  6. Types of Abuse: Must click all four types of abuse, then an activity starts. Must complete drag and drop activity before next is enabled.

  7. Family Characteristics: Must click each of the 10 pictures before next is enabled. Checkmarks will appear on pictures that have been clicked.

  8. Profiles of Abusers: Must go through all 10 questions and view end note before next is enabled.

  9. Strategies of Child Abusers: Must listen to each of the four strategies scenarios/explanations before next is enabled.

  10. Normal Sexual Behavior: Must go through each age group and complete the activity within it before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear on completed age groups.

  11. Child on Child Abuse: Must answer T/F at beginning, then click the 7 buttons that appear before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear on buttons that have been clicked.

  12. Section 2 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  13. Program and Staffing Issues: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 buttons before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear in the top left corners of buttons once they’re clicked.

  14. Appropriate Touching Part 1: Must listen to scenario. As scenario progresses, buttons must be pressed to continue scenario. When scenario/audio is complete, “Done” button appears. User can click “Done” or next button to move forward.

  15. Appropriate Touching Part 2: Must click through all three examples before next is enabled. “Sitting on Your Lap” section has a video that must be watched. A question pops up during video, as well, that must be answered.

  16. Showing Affection: All five guidelines must be clicked, and all information within each guideline must be listened to, before next is enabled. For Guidelines 1 and 3, there is a quick drag and drop activity that must be completed as well. Checkmarks appear on completed guidelines’ buttons.

  17. Code of Conduct: All pieces of the code of conduct must be clicked. When a piece has been completed, it will appear as a solid color with text. Once all are clicked, a pop-up requiring them to download the code of conduct appears. After that, next is enabled.

  18. Section 3 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  19. How to Respond: Must watch video. During video, suggestions will appear for the user to read. Users must manually continue video by clicking buttons that prompt them to do so. Once video is complete, next will be enabled.

  20. Common Ways Kids Disclose: Must click three most common ways and listen to scenarios before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear on completed sections when user returns to main screen following each scenario.

  21. Making the Report: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 5 “steps” buttons that appear (buttons are circles, like timeline). Checkmarks will appear on step circles once they are complete.

  22. Reporting a Co-Worker: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 steps before next is enabled. When next is clicked, “Final Thoughts” video (from Executive Director of Child Care) pops up, which must be watched. Then, the user is prompted to click next again, which this time will take them to the next page.

  23. Final Thoughts About Reporting: Must listen to audio before they are automatically moved to the next page.

  24. FAQ: There are 4 sections the student can look through of some frequently asked questions. They are free to click next whenever they want to proceed.

  25. Signature Page: Must listen to instructions audio before next is enabled. Users are also asked to submit the form here. The form is hosted on our site; they must check off the properties and click Submit. Submission of the form, however, does not affect the next button becoming enabled. It is separate.

Part IV: After School Child Care Training
NOTE: Only After-School Child Care and Summer Day Camp Counselors are required to take Part IV.

  1. Welcome: Course automatically advances after clicking “Continue” on intro message (or if coming back into the course, either can click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”, but either way will be automatically advanced. (If “Continue” is clicked, the narration on the Title page will play and the next button will become enabled when narration completes.)

  2. About YMCA Child Care: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  3. Your Role: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  4. The 15 Minute Count Sheet: You must complete audio narration. When narration completes, 15 Min Count Sheet video will appear automatically. When video completes, next button will be enabled.

  5. Supervision: Five green buttons appear on left side. Clicking each button will display a pop-up with audio narration. A checkmark will appear next to each button when the narration for that pop-up display completes. Once the narration for all five green buttons completes, a grey button labeled “Common mistakes” will appear beneath the five green buttons. Clicking this button will display a video. When that video completes, the next button will be enabled.

  6. Bullying: After introductory audio, four purple square buttons appear on the right side of the screen. Clicking each one brings up text for user to read and produces a checkmark to indicate that that button is completed. When all four have been clicked, next button will be enabled.

  7. Your Responsibility: Once audio narration with slideshow of images completes, Steve’s Story video automatically displays and plays. When video completes, next button will be enabled.

  8. Transportation Safety: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  9. Transportation Responsibilities: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  10. Trip Planning: After introductory audio, three purple buttons appear on the left side of the page. Clicking each one will display a text pop up and will display a check mark on the clicked button. After all three buttons are clicked, and all three check marks appear, the next button will be enabled.

  11. Stranger Danger: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  12. Aquatics Safety for Camp Staff: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  13. Drowning and Other Dangers: After introductory audio, three blue buttons appear across the top of the page. Clicking each button will display a pop up with audio narration. When the narration completes, a check mark will appear next to the clicked botton. (The “Risk Factors” button has three constituent buttons that display and all three of those buttons must be clicked for “Risk Factors” check mark to appear.)

  14. Protection: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  15. Roles: After intro audio, two images of people appear—these images are buttons and user is instructed to click each. Clicking each image produces a pop up with three subsequent buttons that must be clicked. Those three buttons must be clicked, displaying pop-up text and a check mark on each. When all three of those buttons are clicked for both of the two pop up displays (“Lifegaurds” and “Counselors”), the next button will be enabled.

  16. Challenges: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  17. Review: You must complete audio narration before continuing.

  18. Signature Page: You are required to complete the form and press submit. Once the audio narration is completed, next will become enabled. You are also required to move on to the final page to complete orientation.
