YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo NEO Part I (New Employee Orientation):

  1. Welcome: If this is your first time opening the course, read the message at bottom right and click “Continue.” If you are coming back into the course, you can either click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”. If you choose to start over, you will have to redo all information you’ve previously completed. Once you click Continue, audio will begin to play. After audio is complete, the next button in the bottom right corner will become enabled. Click it to continue.

  2. CEO Intro: Must watch video, then the course will automatically move to the next page.

  3. Y Mission: Must listen to all audio and watch animations on-screen. After the audio and animations are complete, they can click next to continue (as indicated by the pop-up.)

  4. Y Voice: Must listen to all audio and watch animations on-screen, then next will become enabled.

  5. Core Values: Must watch the first part of the slide with the compass, then 4 images appear. Click each of them. Listen to the audio and read the information that pops up for each. Once you’ve visited all four, the next button will become enabled.

  6. Timeline: A red timeline bar appears at the bottom of the screen with 7 orange circles. You must click each of the orange circles and listen to all audio associated with each circle. A checkmark will appear over the orange circle when the audio is complete. Once all 7 checkmarks are showing, next will become enabled.

  7. Branches: Listen to intro audio, then roll over each branch name (at left) to see where each branch is located on the map. Next, you must click on every branch and listen to the information about each. Black checkmarks will appear on buttons beside branch names to indicate which have been clicked. When all are complete, next will become enabled.

  8. Operating Principles: Must listen to audio intro and then click each of the 10 buttons at left. When you click each, information will appear that you must read. After all 10 operating principles have been viewed, next will become enabled.

  9. Staff PromiseListen to introductory audio and read information on screen. Then, five phrases will appear on the screen to the left; click on each of these and read the information that comes up on the screen. A checkmark will appear to the left of each phrase when it has been clicked. When each one has been clicked, and all checkmarks are showing, next will become enabled.

  10. Harassment Policy: This section has 5 subsections. You must click the tabs at the bottom right of the shape on screen to move between sub-sections.

    • Intro/Zero Tolerance - Must listen to intro audio. Then, learner must click the tab on the bottom right of the red shape on screen. Once they click the tab, a video will appear. Watch it, then click the tab at bottom right again.

    • Definition of Harassment - definition and 4 buttons will appear (Physical, Verbal, Written, and Sexual). You must click through each of these different types of harassment. Once you click all 4 buttons (each type of harassement), the orange tab on the bottom right of the red shape will be clickable. You must click the orange tab to continue.

    • Reporting a Claim - Must listen to audio and read text on screen, then click the yellow-orange tab at bottom right of shape to move on.

    • Confidentiality - Must listen to audio and read text on screen, then click the yellow tab at bottom right of shape.

    • Corrective Action - Must listen to audio, then next will become enabled.

  11. Employee Handbook: After intro audio, click each of the 5 tabs and listen to the audio within each section. White checkmarks appear on tabs that have been completed. Once all are completed, next is enabled. There is an additional requirement to complete the Open Communication section:

    • Within the Open Communication tab (tab 5, yellow one), a video pops up following the narration. When the narration ends, the user must click each of the buttons for the four steps of the complaint procedure.

  12. 403B: Must listen to intro audio. From intro popup, click “View handout” to download a PDF handout with more information. Then click the “View video” button to watch a video about 403B SMART Accounts. When the video completes, next will become enabled.

  13. FAQsMust click the FAQ buttons, and watch complete the videos associated with each. Once all videos have been viewed, next will become enabled.

  14. Next steps: Listen to audio and read onscreen instructions to begin Part II, Employee Safety and Risk Management.

  1. Welcome: If this is your first time opening the course, read the message at bottom right and click “Continue.” If you are coming back into the course, you can either click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”. If you choose to start over, you will have to redo all information you’ve previously completed. Once you click Continue, audio will begin to play. After audio is complete, the next button in the bottom right corner will become enabled. Click it to continue.

  2. Accidents and Injuries: Once intro audio completes, click each of the 5 steps and listen to audio for each to enable next. A yellow checkmark will appear over step number once audio on each step has completed.

  3. Bloodborne Pathogens: Listen to intro narration, then click 5 buttons to the left to enable next button. A red checkmark will appear once once a section is completed.

    1. Bloodborne Pathogens Definition - Must listen to audio to receive checkmark and complete this section

    2. Hepatitis B Vaccination - Must listen to audio to receive checkmark and complete this section. There is also a button on this page to download the Hepatitis B Declination form as well. Click the button to begin downloading the PDF.

    3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Must listen to audio to receive checkmark and complete this section

    4. If Exposed - Must listen to intro audio, then click the four numbered steps shown on screen. Once audio is complete, and all four buttons have been clicked, next will become enabled.

    5. Exposure Control Plan - Must listen to audio. Attachments pane will open here as well to download a PDF copy of the Exposure Control Plan.

  4. BBP Quiz: 9-question quiz. Correct responses are not required. Feedback is provided for each wrong answer. At the end, next will become enabled.

  5. Hazard Communication and SDS: Allow intro narration to complete, then click 4 orange buttons to the left of the screen. Once all sections are fully completed a red checkmark will appear in the top left corner of each button. When all sections are completed the next button will become enabled.

    1. SDS contains: Click buttons 1-3 and listen to audio to enable checkmark

    2. When to consult an SDS: Allow all audio to complete

    3. Reading the SDS: Click all 16 buttons, and read about each of the 16 sections of the SDS. When each one of the sections is complete, a red checkmark appears in the top left corner of each button.

    4. Other Points: Allow all audio to complete

  6. Hazard Communications Quiz: 10-question quiz. Correct responses are not required. Feedback is provided for each wrong answer. At the end, next will become enabled.

  7. Employee Safety: Listen to intro audio and then click two yellow buttons to the left. Complete each section, an orange checkmark will appear on the box when the section has been completed and the next button will become enabled.

    1. Preventing minor accidents: Click numbered buttons 1-6 to complete section

    2. Working in a safe environment: Listen to intro audio then click numbers 1-5. You must listen to all audio for each number. An orange checkmark will appear over number when it has completed.

YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo NEO Part III (Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention Training):

  1. Welcome Screen: If this is your first time opening the course, read the message at bottom right and click “Continue.” If you are coming back into the course, you can either click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”. If you choose to start over, you will have to redo all information you’ve previously completed. Once you click Continue, you will be automatically advanced to the next page.

  2. Intro Video: Must watch video before next is enabled; you are automatically advanced once video is complete.

  3. Welcome: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  4. Section 1 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  5. Stats: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  6. Types of Abuse: Listen to intro audio, then must click four types of abuse in the top right corner or on the pie chart. You do not need to click “Other Maltreatment,” as there is no additional information about that one. Once you’ve clicked each, a white checkmark will appear in the legend at top right. When all four are complete, a popup will appear. Click the button to continue. Audio will start to play, and another popup will appear. Click “Begin” to start the activity:

  • Drag and drop activity: There is a word bank on the left side of the page, made up of indicators that a child may be in an abusive situation. To the right and bottom of the page, there are 5 boxes, one to represent each type of abuse, and a fifth box to represent indicators that are common for all types of abuse. Each indicator on the left must be dragged into its appropriate box. When all of the indicators have been moved into a box, feedback will appear; read it. If you have missed some, click the button to view the correct answers. You are asked to also download a PDF for additional information. Then you may click the next button to move on.

  • Family Characteristics: Must click each of the 10 pictures, and read the information that pops up for each, before next is enabled. Green checkmarks will appear on pictures that have been completed.

  • Strategies of Child Abusers: Click the four images to learn about the different strategies often used by child abusers. Must listen to each of the four strategies scenarios/explanations before next is enabled. When each of the strategies is completed, the picture for that strategy is grayed out in the opening menu.

  • Child on Child Abuse: Must answer T/F at beginning, then click the 8 buttons that are shown on left side of screen. Red checkmarks appear on buttons that have been clicked. Once all are clicked, next is enabled.

  • Bullying Prevention: Allow intro audio to complete, then click the 5 tabs shown to left side of screen. Blue checkmarks appear on buttons once they have been clicked and the section fully completed. Once all are checked, next is enabled.

    • What is Bullying: Allow audio to complete

    • Types of Bullying: Click on 4 types to enable checkmark

    • Who are Bulllies: Allow audio to complete

    • Effects: Allow audio to complete

    • What Can Y Staff Do to Combat Bullying: Listen to intro narrow, click all four squares

    1. Normal Sexual Behavior: Must listen to intro audio, then click on each age group, one at a time. Within each age group, there will be an activity where you must select the behaviors shown that are normal for children in that age group. Once you select your responses, click the submit button, and feedback will appear. Read the feedback, then another button appears to take you back to the main menu to select another age group. Orange checkmarks appear on completed age groups within the main menu. Once all four age groups’ activities are complete, next will become enabled.

    2. Section 2 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

    3. Program and Staffing Issues: Must watch video at beginning of page. Then, audio will begin. Listen to audio, then click each of the 8 buttons on the right side. Additional information will appear for each. Blue checkmarks appear in the top left corners of buttons once they’re clicked. Once all are clicked, and all information has been read, next will become enabled.

    4. Appropriate Touching Part 1: Click red begin button to read through scenario. At the top of the screen, you will read the scenario. Below that, you will be shown a rule about appropriate touching of children. Under the rule will be a button that you must click to progress through the scenario. There will be five parts to the scenario, and therefore, five rules. Once you’re at Rule #5, next will become enabled.

    5. Appropriate Touching Part 2: Must click through all three common issues examples, and listen to all audio, before next is enabled. As you complete each of the three examples, you will be returned to the main page. A pink checkmark will appear on each completed example. When you have all three checkmarks showing, next will become enabled.

    • “Sitting on Your Lap” section also has a video that must be watched. A question pops up during video, as well, and you must select your response. Once you answer the question, you will see some feedback and must click the button shown to continue the video. When the video is complete, there will be a button in bottom right (“Move on”) to continue onto the next part of the “sitting on your lap” section. In the next section, there is required audio like the other examples.

  • Showing Affection: All five guidelines must be clicked, and all information within each guideline must be listened to, before next is enabled. For Guidelines 1 and 3, there is a quick drag and drop activity that must be completed as well. Checkmarks appear on completed guidelines’ buttons.

  • Code of Conduct: Listen to intro audio, and read the information on the opening popup. Click “Continue” after you’ve read all information and listened to all audio. Then, all pieces of the code of conduct must be clicked (24 boxes). Each has required audio to be marked as complete. When a piece has been completed, it will appear as a solid color with text. Once all are completed, next is enabled.

  • Section 3 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  • How to Respond: Must watch video. During video, suggestions will appear that you must read. You will manually continue video by clicking buttons that prompt you to do so. Once video is complete, next will be enabled.

  • Common Ways Kids Disclose: Must click three most common ways and listen to scenarios. In each scenario, you are posed with a question. Think about a response, and click the button that will appear in the bottom left corner to continue the scenario. Checkmarks appear on completed sections when user returns to main screen following each scenario. Once all three are complete, next will become enabled.

  • Making the Report: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 “steps” buttons that appear (buttons are circles at the bottom of the screen). Read the information that pops up for each step. Then, a checkmark will appear on each step button. Once all checkmarks are showing, and you’ve viewed all six steps, next will become enabled.

  • Reporting a Coworker: Must listen to intro and then click each of the six step buttons that appear. Read the information for each step. A check will appear next to each button when it is clicked. When all checkmarks are showing, next button will become enabled.

  • Final Thoughts: Must complete all audio and read all information on screen before next button will become enabled.

  • Signature Page: This page includes a mandatory form require to be completed in order to receive credit for completing the course. If you do not submit the form, you will not be marked as complete for this course. If the form does not load within the course, click the link at the bottom of the page to open it in a new window. Fill out the form in the new window, then return to the course and click next to view the final page and receive next steps.
