Note: Licking County Family YMCA employees have the option to register for New Employee Orientation (NEO Part I and Part II, Child Abuse Prevention Training) or only for Child Abuse Prevention. They will be instructed to register for one or the other. If they are to only take Child Abuse Prevention, skip ahead to “Part II” instructions below. The pages and instructions are the same as the NEO Child Abuse Prevention course.


Licking County Family YMCA NEO Part 1:

  1. Welcome: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

  2. CEO Intro: Must watch video before next is enabled (video is 5 min, 30 seconds).

  3. Y Mission: Must listen to audio before next is enabled (user is automatically moved on without having to click next.)

  4. Y Voice: Must listen to audio before next is enabled (user is automatically moved on without having to click next.)

  5. Y Culture Video: This page has a video (video is 2 minutes, 49 seconds). Must watch video before next is enabled (user is automatically moved on without having to click next.)

  6. Core Values: Must click all 5 core values and listen to the audio for each before next is enabled. A checkmark will appear in the top left of each core value’s rectangle when complete (Shown below; top two are complete in example screenshot, “Respect” is being narrated, and the other bottom two have not yet been completed.)


  7. Timeline: This timeline is different from other Y timelines thus far. There are three separate timelines on this one page−one for 1800s, 1900s, and 2000s. User must click each of the white squares that has the centuries listed, and then a timeline pops up for that century. Must click all of the blue circles on each century’s timeline, and listen to the audio for each, before next is enabled. White checkmarks will indicate which circles have been completed within each timeline, and then a separate blue checkmark will appear on each white century square. Screenshot below:

  8. Centers: Must click on every center (11 total centers) before next is enabled. Checkmarks will appear on buttons beside center names to indicate which have been clicked.

  9. Core Programs: Must click all 8 core program buttons (buttons are on right of page) and listen to the audio within each section before next is enabled. (Core Programs highlighted are child care, camp, sports, aquatics, Christian emphasis, activate youth, health & fitness, and community.) A blue checkmark will appear in the top left corner of each program button once it is complete.

  10. Staff Pledge: Must first listen to introductory audio. Then, must roll over all 5 letters in the word CAUSE that appear on the left side of the page after the intro audio before next is enabled.

  11. Core Beliefs: Must listen to all audio before next is enabled.

  12. Belief Operating Principles: Listen to intro audio; then must click all 10 buttons and listen to the audio within each section before next is enabled. Checkmarks will appear on the top left of buttons of sections that are complete.

  13. Employee Handbook: Must listen to intro audio, then click each of the 9 tabs and listen to the audio within each section before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear on tabs that have been completed. (Also, in the “Wage & Salary Administration” section, 8 extra buttons will pop up that must be clicked to complete that section. A checkmark appears at top left of each extra button when it has been clicked. Then, when all 8 are complete and the audio has finished, Wage & Salary tab will be checked as complete.)

  14. Harassment Policy: Must listen to intro audio, and then click buttons of “definitions” that pop up. Then, the user must go through the 4 remaining pages of the harassment policy by clicking the tabs in the bottom corners. Once the user reaches the final page (yellow, labeled “Corrective Action”), the next button is enabled.

  15. Open Communication: Must listen to audio, then next is enabled.

  16. Employee Safety: Must go through each of the three main sections (listed at top of page: Accidents/Injuries, Bloodborne Pathogens [BBP], Safety Data Sheets [SDS]). Checkmarks will appear on sub-sections’ buttons, as well as on the main topics’ buttons once complete.

    1. Within Accidents/Injuries section, must listen to audio AND click each of the four numbered buttons (buttons do not have audio).

    2. Within BBP, must click all 3 buttons and listen to all audio within each sub-section.

      1. In third section, (If exposed), must click all four buttons and listen to audio.

    3. Within SDS, must click all 3 buttons and listen to all audio within each sub-section.

      1. In first section, (SDS contains…), all three buttons must be clicked in addition to listening to audio. Once each is clicked, the text next to it stays on screen.

      2. In third section, (Reading the SDS), all 16 buttons must be clicked. Red checkmarks appear at top left of completed buttons.

  17. Signature Page: Must listen to instructions audio before next is enabled. Users must fill out and submit the form for an e-mail to be sent. The user must then click the next button to receive the final instructions and complete the course.

  • Next steps: User clicks next course title in Course Menu on site to begin Part II, Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention Training. They are given the following instructions on screen: To begin, click Part II: Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention Training in the black panel at left, or click the button that says, Next Course (also at left).

  • Licking County Family YMCA NEO Part 2 (Child Abuse Prevention):

      1. Welcome Screen (title page): User automatically advances after clicking “Continue” on intro message (or if coming back into the course, either can click “Continue From Where I Left” or “Start Over”, but either way will be automatically advanced.

      2. Intro Video: Must watch video before next is enabled (video 47 seconds long); user is automatically advanced once video is complete.

      3. Welcome: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

      4. Section 1 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

      5. Stats: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

      6. Types of Abuse: Must click all four types of abuse, then an activity starts. Must complete drag and drop activity before next is enabled.

      7. Family Characteristics: Must click each of the 10 pictures before next is enabled. Green checkmarks will appear on pictures that have been clicked.

      8. Profiles of Abusers: Must go through all 10 questions and view end note before next is enabled.

      9. Strategies of Child Abusers: Must listen to each of the four strategies scenarios/explanations before next is enabled. When each is complete, it becomes grayed out in the main screen (where all four pictures are shown, one to represent each strategy).

      10. Normal Sexual Behavior: Must go through each age group and complete the activity within it before next is enabled. Orange checkmarks appear on completed age groups in “main menu,” where the age groups are selected.

      11. Child on Child Abuse: Must answer T/F at beginning, then click the 7 buttons that appear before next is enabled. Red checkmarks appear on buttons that have been clicked.

      12. Section 2 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

      13. Program and Staffing Issues: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 buttons, that appear on the right side of the page, before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear in the top left corners of buttons once they’re clicked.

      14. Appropriate Touching Part 1: Must read through scenario. As scenario progresses, buttons must be pressed to continue scenario. When scenario is complete, “Done” button appears. User can click “Done” or next button to move forward.

      15. Appropriate Touching Part 2: Must click through all three examples before next is enabled. “Sitting on Your Lap” section has a video that must be watched. A question pops up during video, as well, that must be answered.

      16. Showing Affection: All five guidelines must be clicked, and all information within each guideline must be listened to, before next is enabled. For Guidelines 1 and 3, there is a quick drag and drop activity that must be completed as well. Checkmarks appear on completed guidelines’ buttons.

      17. Code of Conduct: All pieces of the code of conduct must be clicked. When a piece has been completed, it will appear as a solid color with text. Once all are clicked, next is enabled.

      18. Section 3 Intro: Must listen to audio before next is enabled.

      19. How to Respond: Must watch video. During video, suggestions will appear for the user to read. Users must manually continue video by clicking buttons that prompt them to do so. Once video is complete, next will be enabled.

      20. Common Ways Kids Disclose: Must click three most common ways and listen to scenarios before next is enabled. Checkmarks appear on completed sections when user returns to main screen following each scenario.

      21. Making the Report: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 “steps” buttons that appear (buttons are circles, like timeline). Checkmarks will appear on step circles once they are complete.

      22. Reporting a Coworker: Must watch video at beginning, then click each of the 6 steps before next is enabled. When next is clicked, “Final Thoughts” video (from Director of Early Childhood Programs) pops up, which must be watched. Then, the user is prompted to click next again, which this time will take them to the next page.

      23. HR FAQs: Navigation is free; can move on whenever.

      24. Signature Page: Must listen to instructions audio before next is enabled. Users must fill out and submit the form for an e-mail to be sent. The user must then click the next button to receive the final instructions and complete the course.

  • Final thoughts: Next steps appear right away. They should listen to “next steps” audio as well, and then can exit the course. Next steps are shown in screenshot below:
