Administrators have the option of creating Graded or Ungraded Classrooms. Graded options allow you to:

  • Give students an overall grade for the entire classroom.
  • Award certificates on the entire classroom.
  • Award clock hours on the entire classroom.
  • View reports on classroom progress, including weekly reports.
  • Have the classroom appear on the student's My Courses page.
  • And more.

This article outlines how to set up and use a Graded Classroom.

Creating a Graded Classroom

As an administrator, go to Classrooms and click on Create Classroom.

You will have an option for Graded or Ungraded.

With Graded selected, you have two options that aren't available for Ungraded Classrooms.

1. Classroom Image: You can upload an image for the Classroom. This will appear for learners on their My Courses page.

2. Certificate: You can select if you would like a certificate to be awarded on completion. Custom certificates that you have created will appear here.

Once set, click on Save.

Using a Classroom

Graded Classrooms and Ungraded Classrooms function similarly. To learn how to use common features, please refer to the Classrooms Folder on our Support Hub. There are articles explaining how to:

Learner's View

Learners who have a Graded Classroom will have it appear on their My Courses page. If they earn a certificate of completion, it can also be viewed here.

Weekly Reports

Graded Classrooms allow you to run weekly reports. At the bottom of the Classroom, click on Weekly Report.

This is a combined report for Event attendance within the Classroom broken out week-by-week. These grades are set within After-Event Reporting.

You have two options to download these reports:

  • Export (CSV): This will export that specific week into a CSV file.
  • Export (Excel): This will export all weeks into one combined Excel file. Each week is displayed in a separate worksheet for convenience.

Final Grading

At the bottom of the main Classroom page is an option for Final Grading. This gives you the ability to grade learners on their overall attendance on the classroom.

This page lists each learner separately. It then shows the number of clock hours they have earned total. You have the option to then update their status.

  • Not Attempted
  • Incomplete
  • Completed

You could also click on Mark All As Completed, which will update everyone's status.

For convenience, we also provide a Breakdown. By clicking on it, you can see the clock hours and score earned for each Event.

If a certificate was added to the Classroom, when they are marked as Completed the learners would have then be awarded that certificate.

Reporting

Unlike Ungraded Classrooms, Graded Classrooms appear in Reporting. Go to Reporting and click on Graded Classrooms.

On the main Graded Classroom reporting page, there are two reports.

  • Classrooms: This lists all Graded Classrooms. Clicking on its title will display more information.
  • Lesson Statuses: This lists all learners statuses within all Graded Classrooms in your site.

When you click on a Classroom's name, you will see the following reports.

  • Lesson Status: This lists every learner and their overall status.
  • Event Attendees: This lists all events taken by learners in the Classroom.
  • Resources Accessed: Displays all resources that were viewed or downloaded within the Classroom.
  • Course Assignments: Lists all courses that were assigned through the Classroom.
  • Learning Path Assignments: Lists all Learning Paths that were assigned through the Classroom.
  • Event Assignments: Lists all Events that were assigned through the Classroom.
  • Assessment Assignments: Lists all Assessments that were assigned through the Classroom.

By clicking on the Certificate Date, you can then view that Learner's certificate of completion.

Graded Classrooms will also appear on a Learner's Transcript.
