Resources are files and Web links provided for reference and use by members of your organization.

Controlling who has access to resources

Administrators have the ability to control who has access to resources. In Site Building under the Social Features section, there is an area to change the permission for resources. There are a few options:

  • Resources disabled
  • Only administrators can create new resources (default)
  • Anyone can create new resources

Uploading files

To upload files as a resource, either drag and drop files, or click on the box to select files to upload. If you click on Add File Description you have the ability to add a title or description.

Max files per upload: 10

Max file size: 250 MB per file

Supported file types

.doc, .docx, .pdf, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .tsv, .zip, .7z

If you want to upload a file in a format we don't support, we recommend zipping the file as either a .zip, .rar, or .7z. Please read this article on how to zip and unzip files for Windows.

There is no limit on the how many files to upload, you can upload as many files as you want!

Adding a URL

To add a URL, enter a web link under Resource Link URL, then click on 'Verify Link.' This will open the website in another tab to ensure you have the correct URL. After you click on 'Verify Link' you have the ability to enter in a title and description (which are both optional) before submitting.

Viewing resources accessed

CollaborNation keeps track every time somebody opens a resource. This can be helpful for administrators who want to make sure their employees opened documents that they are required to read. To view who accessed a resource, under Current Resources click on the Downloads/Views for a resource. On the following page you will see a list of everyone who downloaded the file along with the date they last accessed it.

This information can be found in Reporting as well.

Deleting a resource

To delete a resource, click on the plus icon (+) next to the resource title. In the dropdown click on the Delete button.
